Christmas Spirit: Motivating Yourself for a Better 2025
A short story is a compact and complete narrative that typically revolves around a single character or event. These brief works of fiction aim to convey a compelling story, evoke emotions, or explore themes and ideas within a limited word count. Short stories often focus on a single plot, character development, and may conclude with a twist or a thought-provoking resolution. They are a literary form that allows authors to deliver powerful and concise narratives.
“Go!” Raswen shouted shooing her husband away like driving a budug dog when it was raining heavily. Even though Darmin is suffering from asthma. The man did not immediately leave the house. His body shivered unable to withstand the cold air. His weak voice trembled calling his wife's name to open the door and let her in. But Raswen didn't care. Instead, he immediately made his favorite milk coffee, a plate of hot fried boled, then he sat in front of the TV watching his favorite soap opera with the volume turned up. Raswen feels like a very independent queen because she has finally succeeded in expelling Darmin. An old man who has lost his wealth. An old man who only bothered him because he was sickly.
Tragic. The next morning the fifty year old man was found dead at the patrol post. Raswen is happy not to play. But he pretended to be sad even acting -out roll-tumble screaming until terminated pretended to faint. Finally, Raswen had great success in robbing all of Darmin's property without any significant obstacles. Raswen laughed loudly. Up! Raswen regretted that he couldn't help but laugh at his expression of pleasure. But the regret didn't last long because people thought Raswen was in a trance. So, Raswen laughed even more crazy.

"Watch out! The one who sinned a lot, in Mecca was avenged! There are congregations who in their homeland often scold and persecute people, there are also victims of anger and persecution. There is a sinden who often cheats, there is a victim of sexual harassment! Watch carefully!” the story of Haji Wijem who went for hajj last year to Raswen who will go for hajj next month. “There are also congregations who in their homeland expel their husbands and even divorce their husbands so that their husbands get sick and die, in Mecca there, the jam'ah is always scolded by the team leader and is not even recognized as a member. The congregation was isolated and not recognized by many people. Even when queuing up to buy food, the congregation is always left out. Finally the congregation got sick and died in Mecca.”
“Hey Haji Wijem, you offended me? Rongokna yes! Sing amba's ears dijembreng! Our Lakine Darmin I never threw out! He died at the checkpoint while waiting for his friend!” Raswen snapped, offended.
“Hey who offended you Raswen! That's a true story that did happen! Did you throw Darmin out of the cold, didn't you?"
Raswen was getting irritated. His anger rose to the top. His bad behavior was unbearable. Go! That's the word expulsion for Haji Wijem. The woman did not expect the slightest bit to be treated rudely by Raswen, who was still related to her. Haji Wijem cash njepat-njepat leave Raswen that nyap-nyap .
News of Darmin froze to death at the patrol post because Raswen was expelled immediately spread everywhere. Haji Wijem, of course, was willing to be a credit victim to make phone calls here and there to expose the news which he thought was horrendous! Hearing Haji Wijem's madness, Raswen's face turned red with anger. But Raswen wouldn't be his name if he didn't immediately counterattack. Raswen has many subordinates. They were plotted to blow up the issue that Darmin froze to death at the patrol post because he waited too long for Haji Wijem, his mistress. In fact, they were ordered to terrorize Haji Wijem via phone calls and dark sms. There was a lot of war between two rich women in the village of Suka Damai which was no longer peaceful. Because on Saturday night, at the location of the ongoing night market, the two women met, quarreled, fought over and over, accompanied by hysterical cursing. If only Ustadz Komarudin had not immediately separated them, perhaps they would have fought until someone fainted.
"Be careful Raswen! Next month you will go on Hajj! If in their homeland they often fight with relatives, in Mecca people can be beaten!” the advice of Ustadz Komarudin who happened to be passing by at the night market. “You may think it's just a myth! However, most of the hajjis see and even experience such punishments!”
"Huh!" Raswen sneered as he rushed to leave Ustadz Komarudin and the people who had been watching the fight. "Beware you guys!" threatened Raswen in his heart. His vengeance warmed his heart. Even until he sleeps, the grudge still smolders. In his dream, Raswen becomes a powerful female warrior. He rages in the market, only because an old lady selling pindang has been serving him for too long. Raswen kicked a large pot of pindang fish. Not satisfied, Raswen dragged Nek Durmi and slammed him. But it turned out that Nek Durmi was able to bounce up and even then dive towards Raswen and hit the woman's chest until she bounced about five meters onto a pile of vegetable oil drums. "Waaa!" Raswen screamed because he felt his body hurt so badly against the drums. Raswen's screams were ignored. Until he woke up from his sleep, Raswen kept screaming in pain. Nobody helps. Because Raswen lives alone. No relatives let alone neighbors who want to be close to him. Raswen stopped screaming in pain as his chest tightened.
"Raswen! Open the door!” When he felt short of breath, Raswen remembered the request of Darmin, who was suffering from asthma that night. Last night because the next morning Darmin was found dead at the patrol post. Indirectly, it was Raswen who killed Darmin. Because Darmin was expelled by Raswen in a state of chronic asthma. Remembering all that, Raswen was frightened. "Raswen, where did you throw my two young children?" that was Darmin's question that seemed to emerge from the corner of Raswen's room. Raswen was really scared. The woman who was actually beautiful but didn't look beautiful because she was too evil ran out of the room and even out of her house. The woman ran into the street until she fell and passed out.

Actually, Raswen no longer wanted to go for Hajj. In the past he forced Darmin to register for Hajj because he wanted to be famous and be called the mother of Hajj. Why don't rich people be called Mrs. Haji? But now, Raswen no longer wants to be famous, no longer wants to be called Mrs. Haji. Raswen wants to live a quiet life. Because every day, Raswen is always overshadowed by the sins he has committed. Moreover, Darmin's shadow always haunts his days. But how? If Raswen gave up his intentions, Haji Wijem and his cronies would have confirmed that Darmin's killer was indeed Raswen. Raswen did not go on the pilgrimage for fear of his sins being avenged in Mecca.
Raswen still went for Hajj. Although no one from the village took him to the Indramayu Hajj Dormitory. Raswen was alone with the driver. When Raswen boarded the bus that would take the Indramayu pilgrims to Jakarta, his seat was already occupied by someone else. The congregation is Darmin. With a pale face because of fear Raswen immediately descended. He asked his driver to take him to Jakarta. The Hajj committee did not agree but Raswen insisted. Not to get to Mecca, Raswen already blingsatan accept the punishment of the world due to his actions. Raswen increasingly does not want to go on a pilgrimage. His cunning makes his brain spin and find brilliant ideas according to him. He told the driver to go to the hotel where he often spends the night when shopping for clothes at Tanah Abang Market, Jakarta. The driver was confused but just did what his employer ordered.
Presumably, during the hajj season, Raswen will stay at a hotel near Tanah Abang Market, Jakarta. Two days before returning home, Raswen shopped for hajj gifts at Tanah Abang Market. Don't forget that he also bought a two-liter carrier carrier filled with mineral water as zam-zam water. Raswen thinks he is the best at lying to people. Raswen thought he would be successful in lying about having performed the pilgrimage. Unexpectedly and unexpectedly, Haji Wijem had made a banner that was installed at the village gate and in front of Raswen's house which contained the words, "Welcome to Haji Tanah Abang!" Unfortunately, Raswen is illiterate. The driver is also illiterate. Gatotkaca gallantly glared unable to read. So that Raswen, who was only assisted by the driver, still felt successful in lying to the villagers that he had gone on a pilgrimage. He distributed hajj gifts that he bought at Tanah Abang Market while telling stories he had written while in the Holy Land. He's good at telling stories. Raswen is like that . "Alhamdulillah, I have a prosperous Hajj . This is prayer rugs, prayer beads, and zam-zam water for Ustadz Komarudin. Thank you for your prayers, Mr. Ustadz, hahaha…” Raswen deserves a trophy as the best soap opera artist. But he had to go back to being tormented until he realized what he had done. Because of Ustadz Komarudin's face, in Raswen's view, it was Darmin who was whining to ask for the door to be opened. Raswen screamed in fear and ran back and forth refusing to see Darmin's face, which he often imagined.*** Untung Gautara/Pilang, September 8, 2012
